Landscaper
This great rottweiler was having so much fun rearranging the lake. He plunged his head underwater, grabbed a heavy rock, and moved it to just the right spot before dropping it. He did this over and over, and seemed to be thoroughly satisfied with his handiwork.

Fantastic Frank
It's way past time for a few pictures, in no particular order, of Fantastic Frank. I never thought I'd fall in love with a serious, poker-faced redhead, but he makes every day better. Some of you know what I mean.

Dog Poetry
Start each day with stretching.
Next, some meditation makes for a zen dog.
And finally, a well-deserved nap.
Usually it's cats who have the reputation (completely deserved) for egotism. But I have to say, we dogs are pretty awesome. It's a fact. Ask anyone.
Among many well-deserved accolades (because dogs don't have false modesty), poet Mary Oliver wrote something kinda nice about us:
"If
the confident animal coming toward us
had a mind like ours,
the change in him would startle us.
But to him his own being is endless,
undefined, and without regard
for his condition: clear,
like his eyes. Where we see future,
he sees all, and himself
in all, made whole for always."
had a mind like ours,
the change in him would startle us.
But to him his own being is endless,
undefined, and without regard
for his condition: clear,
like his eyes. Where we see future,
he sees all, and himself
in all, made whole for always."
Nice, huh? And perceptive. She got it exactly right.
She would have made a good dog.

It's A Dog's Life
This phrase meant a miserably unhappy existence when it was first coined in the 1500s. Happily, things have changed!
