Summer Cottage

This reminds me of the little cottages people used to have along the river.  Usually called summer cottages, they were the sanity-saving weekend escape from town and job in the days before air conditioning.  Very basic, furnished with mismatched cast-offs, and, if you were lucky, featuring a screened porch where you could sip cold fresh-squeezed lemonade and visit with the neighbors.

Wild Winds in the Midwest

Here it comes.

 Wild wind and rain.

Barn siding blowing in the wind.

Finally, the calm after the storm.

Judgmental Owl

He was rather uncomplimentary about the job I did taking his picture.  I have to agree.  But in my defense, it was taken at dusk through a dirty window.  If he wanted a better one, he should have posed, instead of flying off in a huff the minute I stepped outside.  Sheesh, some birds!
